Trading in my Yummy Mummy bag...

Well, not replacing it as such, more adding to my collection with a Pacapod baby changing bag. The bags, which come in a range of styles to suit all budgets - ranging from £65 - £190 - all include a fab organising system. Inside each bag are two detachable pods for feeding and changing items which can be whipped out of the bag easily. They even double up as cool boxes for summertime picnics too! The bags are designed by Jacqueline Waggett, an outdoor clothing designer, mum of two and keen traveller, who designed PacaPod when she couldn’t find a baby bag that could keep her organised. We all know that feeling. PacaPod's have won loads of praise and have been featured in the Sunday Times Good Gear Guide, Real Travel, Baby London, Practical Parenting, Pregnancy and Birth and many more...including Esquire (the mens' mag) who say it's one of the only nappy bags a man can be seen with. So there's no excuse for your 'better' halves not to sling it over their shoulder while you're struggling with the pushchair. My favourite style is this Holly Golightly number, but you'll be sure to find one that suits you. Just check out www.pacapod.com

Now, how's that for organisation?

Little Man's Penguin Polo

LM is certainly spoiled when it comes to clothes, at the rate he's going we will need a walk-in wardrobe for him before he hits one! His newest acquisition, this gorgeous Penguin polo shirt, came courtesy of his lovely Auntie Laura at the weekend.

We'll be teaming it with navy cords while it's chilly outside, then with a pair of navy board shorts or white linen trousers if we get a summer this year. These tops are available directly from Penguin online www,originalpenguin.com or from various concessions around the UK. Rather brilliantly, you can get an almost identical one for Daddy too.

High heels for babies?

The papers and magazines went a little doolally when Suri Cruise stepped out in killer heels when she was just four years old.

So how would they feel about these little numbers?

These soft high heel baby shoes are designed for non-walking little ones, up to the age of six months. It's not just a high heel they're rocking either, check out the leopard print lining. Bearing in mind the heels are made by a company called 'Heelarious', I'm not entirely sure they are designed to be taken seriously. But if you think your little girl could give Miss Cruise a run(ning in heels) for her money in the style stakes, the shoes are available from www.bornfabulousboutique.com and retail at $34.95. They ship to the UK.

Welcome to Baby Stylist

Hello yummy mummies,

Thanks for logging onto my little blog. First off, let me tell you a little bit about myself and why I've started writing it. Basically, I'm a journalist - and a new mummy (not in order of importance there!). My Little Man was born in January this year. Since then, like you, my world has been turned completely on its head - for the better, of course. Little Man totally rules our roost and we don't mind one bit. Apart from the early mornings, maybe. Neither myself or my Darling Hubby are what you might call larks.

Anyway, at my 20 week scan I discovered I was having a boy and even though I was delighted - I'd been secretly hoping for a boy first - I suddenly panicked about what I was going to dress him in. Girls are easy, so I thought. There are hundreds of pretty dresses and accessories, but what is there for boys? All I could recall seeing were jeans, more jeans and various shades of blue sweaters and tees - all very cute, but nowhere near as exciting as the girls'. Little did I know! Since LM has been in my life we've gone from being chavvy to savvy and have found loads of boutiques, online stores and hidden high street gems. LM's wardrobe is fast becoming more enviable than mine and DH's together. I wanted to share all our fashion finds with other mummies, as well as having a journal of LM's milestones, memorable days etc. I also want to be able to help with any fashion dilemmas you may have about what to dress your little cherubs in, give tips on do's and don'ts for tots (there are some, just ask poor Tommy Moon from Eastenders, who has already been shoved in an animal print babygro - and he's only been back with Kat for a few weeks)

Anyway, it would be great to hear any thoughts, dilemmas, questions etc about anything baby related, so feel free to contact me. And hopefully, with some help from some friends, this blog can be your first point of call for your baby fashion needs.

lots of love
