One for the yummies...

I'm so obsessed with making sure that Little Man looks good that I've only just realised I've stopped taking the pride in my own appearance that I once did. I came to this realisation this week when I caught sight of myself, pushing the pram, in a shop window. Flat shoes, leggings, hair scrapped back in a pony-tail and not a scrap of make-up. I looked more pram-face than yummy mummy. It was a bad moment. I came home and promptly ditched all my leggings. 'It's about time you did that,' Big Man said to me. Er, why didn't he mention this before? I promptly booked myself a hair appointment and pulled my skinny jeans and tailored jackets back out of the wardrobe where they have been gathering mothballs for the last 18 months. 'You look like you again,' BM smiled as I gave him a little fashion show (complete with heels). My New Year's resolution is to stay away from leggings and unflattering boots from now on. Comfort doesn't mean dressing like a slob!

These fab cashmere dresses are perfect daywear for spring and the stripes will be bang on trend. (Brilliant news as we love a bit of nautical in our household.) I'm planning on pairing mine with a cropped denim jacket, wedges and big sunglasses. Well, when it gets warmer obviously. It's scarves and gloves all the way at the moment. Welcome to Baby Stylist

Hello yummy mummies,

Thanks for logging onto my little blog. First off, let me tell you a little bit about myself and why I've started writing it. Basically, I'm a journalist - and a new mummy (not in order of importance there!). My Little Man was born in January this year. Since then, like you, my world has been turned completely on its head - for the better, of course. Little Man totally rules our roost and we don't mind one bit. Apart from the early mornings, maybe. Neither myself or my Darling Hubby are what you might call larks.

Anyway, at my 20 week scan I discovered I was having a boy and even though I was delighted - I'd been secretly hoping for a boy first - I suddenly panicked about what I was going to dress him in. Girls are easy, so I thought. There are hundreds of pretty dresses and accessories, but what is there for boys? All I could recall seeing were jeans, more jeans and various shades of blue sweaters and tees - all very cute, but nowhere near as exciting as the girls'. Little did I know! Since LM has been in my life we've gone from being chavvy to savvy and have found loads of boutiques, online stores and hidden high street gems. LM's wardrobe is fast becoming more enviable than mine and DH's together. I wanted to share all our fashion finds with other mummies, as well as having a journal of LM's milestones, memorable days etc. I also want to be able to help with any fashion dilemmas you may have about what to dress your little cherubs in, give tips on do's and don'ts for tots (there are some, just ask poor Tommy Moon from Eastenders, who has already been shoved in an animal print babygro - and he's only been back with Kat for a few weeks)

Anyway, it would be great to hear any thoughts, dilemmas, questions etc about anything baby related, so feel free to contact me. And hopefully, with some help from some friends, this blog can be your first point of call for your baby fashion needs.
