Baby Stylist loves...Ralph Lauren's gifting range for little men

We already know that uber-trendy celebaby Skylar Berman loves a bit of Ralph Lauren, and - as we always say - what's good enough for Skylar is good enough for us. www.ralphlauren.co.uk has a wonderful range of gift ideas for boys, so if you're stuck on what to buy that special little man in your life, it's worth checking out. As always, here are a few of my festive faves...

Pine tree mittens

Cute, wooly and fleece-lined - ideal for keeping those precious little pinkies warm over the next few months. Too nice to be rolling snowballs with though! Go to http://bit.ly/t62MXV for purchase info

Reindeer shawl cardigan

What's Christmas without a reindeer-themed cardi? Please note, while this works for toddlers, it's not in anyway cute on a grown man. Just in case you had any ideas. We adore this gorgeous piece of knitwear - perfect to layer over t-shirts and shirts to make any outfit festive. http://bit/ly/tjcdVq

Cotton velvet jacket

Love, love, love this jacket - with it's classic three button silhouette, it's enough to make any little man look dapper. It looks great over a festive sweater and can even make a pair of jeans look super smart. Total and utter gorgeousness. http://bit.ly/vc3V0g

You can check out the full range of boys gift ideas here http://www.ralphlauren.co.uk/family/index.jsp?categoryId=4494871 and I recommend you do as there are some other fab pieces that would be perfect pressies for the little gentleman. And if you order before December 20, you'll get your order in time for the big day.

Get the look - Coco Arquette, Suri Cruise, Olive Baron Cohen etc etc

Absolute must have for any stylish baby this winter has to be a teeny-weenie pair of Ugg boots. I've already marveled at their utter cuteness, when Ali Larter's bubba, Theo, was spotted in them earlier this year. But it seems like the footwear is essential if you are the child of a celebrity - just look at these pics...

And that's just a small selection. Uggs aren't just about style for baby though. You know how lovely and warm that sheepskin lining feels on your tootsies? Well, imagine how that must feel for your little one - like walking on clouds. And that nasty winter wind? They won't even feel it. Cheesiness aside - Uggs are the one type of footwear that I can safely match mine with LMs. Check out the new Daniel footwear website www.danielfootwear.com for a great range of Uggs for babies and toddlers. Prices from 35 GBP. Any stylish baby would love a pair of these for Christmas.

Stocking news!

Happy December everybody. Sorry to just repeat what everyone else is saying, but seriously, how fast has this year gone? I suppose being a first time mum has made time go all that much faster. It's been an amazing year watching LM go from being a tiny, helpless little bundle to a walking ball of energy. It's hard to believe that someone who wasn't even here this time last year has already got such strong ideas about what he wants. He's started shaking his head this week, in defiance. 'Come to Mummy please,' I'll call. He shakes his head, smiles and wanders off to one of his toys. 'Do you want to read a story with Mummy?' Head shake. Too cute.

Anyway, I'm so excited about my first Christmas with my angel. The tree is being delivered this week. We have a gorgeous personalised baulble courtesy of my mum. There's a huge pile of presents building up in the bedroom. And one of my favourite, favourite Chrimbo trinkets is from our old friends at Monkey Sew, Monkey Do. The lovely Lisa is making traditional, personalised stockings.

How gorgeous is that? I love everything about it and it's sure to be a regular feature in our home every year from now on. Lisa's doing 'Mummy' and 'Daddy' stockings too. If you'd like one, and why wouldn't you, head here www.folksy.com/shops/MonkeySewMonkeyDo or check out the Facebook page here www.facebook.com/pages/Monkey-Sew-Monkey-Do I'm more excited about Christmas now than when I was a kid!

Little Man's new shoes

Once again, I have to offer my apologies for being so lame with posting recently. Lots has been happening in our household, including Little Man becoming an actual toddler! Yes, he's been walking for about a month now (rather unsteadily) but has properly nailed it this week. To celebrate we took him off to get his little tootsies properly measured and bought him his first pair of proper shoes. Nothing fancy, no labels, not even the Converse I've been eyeing up since he was born. We got a proper pair of Clarks First Steps shoes - Cruiser Time in grey leather.

I actually love the design, they're total boy shoes. LM has had more pairs of shoes than me including Nike, Adidas and Timberland crib shoes (all sooo gorgeous and now all too small. Sad face). I still can't believe I went for the sensible option. I must be growing up.

Get the look - Skylar Berman Zoe

Skylar Berman Zoe is up there with Flynn Bloom as one of my favourite celebritots. It's hardly a surprise that he always looks so well turned out with a famous stylist for a mum (even though she apparently cried when she found out she was having a boy). The pair touched down in  LA last week with Skylar looking his usual dashing self. And to be fair, mum wasn't looking too shabby either ;-)

Look at those beautiful blue eyes. The other thing I love about Skylar is he is such a happy baby. See...

Cuuuuuuuuute! Anyway, back to the clothes. Skylar is sporting a gorgeous Ralph Lauren snap-front coverall, that is currently on sale at www.ralphlauren.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11894592 for a bargainous $27.99 (that's around twenty quid I think - what a steal) And its perfect for these chilly autumn days.

The Urban Meadow (plus an unrelated rant)

Hello...and sorry,  sorry, sorry I have been so slack recently. Some exciting things going on here, which I will share with you in due course. (PS - I will say this; it's not being accepted on the Mumsnet bloggers network, because we, er, haven't. Apparently Baby Stylist is too review heavy for them. Which I think is amusing as I seldom really do reviews...just point you lovely lot in the direction of the most stylish and cute children's clothing out there. Anyway, that's fine. Our readership is averaging 200 hits a day so WHO NEEDS MUMSNET?)

Anyway, rant over, I want to share with you a really rather lovely site pointed out to me by a friend. For those of you who love ethical clothing for your little ones, please have a look at www.theurbanmeadow.co.uk for a wonderful range of green and ethically sourced clothing. I won't harp on too much about the benefits of ethical clothing as I know I've mentioned them several times before. What I will focus on though, is the range and quality available online. It's still in the early stages, and the website promises a new collection in the spring, but from what I've seen, I'm already hooked, and I'm sure you will be too. As usual, here are a few of my handpicked faves :) Enjoy. And I promise not to leave it so long next time!

Got a dappa dude or dudette?

Once again, let me apologise for the lack of blog action recently - my actual paid job has taken on a life of its own, and coupled with trying to be a full-time mum as well, I've been comatose in front of the TV post 7pm most nights. Poor me. Anyway, I've had a bit spare time this evening and have been able to catch up on some baby gear lusting. I've stumbled across a cool site for any mums who want their little ones to look cool rather than twee. www.dappadudes.co.uk has an aim to bring the latest in urban styles to the 'little people of the world' and they do have some great little pieces in their range. It's also a great place to point anyone to in the run up to Christmas if  they're looking for cool offerings away from the high street. Or even just to avoid the highstreet. Here are a few of my picks from the site:

Style stealers - Max Corden

I loved seeing the pictures of the hilarious James Corden playing in the sunshine with his little boy, Max. But I have to say that James' girlfriend, Julia Carey, has clearly been reading Baby Stylist and taking notes from Flynn Bloom. Max was wearing an almost identical outfit to one Flynn was snapped in a few weeks ago, and one of the outfits we featured on our Get the Look pages.

Looking good Max!

East meets West...

One of my favourite new finds is Asian-inspired babywear label Ruby Rani. The boutique brand, which combines traditional Asian designs (think vibrant colours, embellishment, sequins, embroidery) with comfortable fabrics, is the brainchild of Kit Bhatti - who was inspired to create the range after struggling to find quality baby clothes which adequately reflected her family's dual Western and Asian identity. There's also plenty of practicality to the outfits, such as nappy poppers and adjustable waistbands, to make things easy.  Kit says of her range: “I created the Ruby Rani range as a fusion of beautiful Eastern styles and high-quality Western manufacturing standards and I really think it will appeal to Asian and non-Asian mothers alike.” I love the colours and designs, they capture the vibrant spirit of traditional Asian celebrations. Take a moment to have a look at the full range online at www.rubyrani.com, but, as always, here are a few of my faves...

Special offer for Baby Stylist Readers - from www.greennippers.co.uk

I love an eco-friendly range of baby clothes and am glad to see more and more sites popping up that offer organic children's clothes and accessories. One of my favourite new companies is www.greennippers.co.uk which have a great selection of organic baby grows for girls and boys. Green Nippers specialise in colourful organic baby clothes and accessories which are made from 100% organic cotton. The poppers and fasteners are nickel free - and the products are all ethically manufactured in Turkey under the Global Organic Textile Standard. What I really love about Green Nippers is products aren't all bland and beige like some organic ranges. The bright lively colours are dyed using natural and non-toxic dyes. The clothes are ideal for babies who suffer with eczema as organic cotton doesn't contain finishing chemicals or pesticide residues. Any mum who has lived with baby eczema knows how important it is to reduce the risk of flare-ups.

Green Nippers launched their debut collection back in December 2009, consisting of organic baby grows and matching accessories. The baby grows are even designed with extra room, to fit around cloth nappies, if you're feeling super eco. The new Junior Collection launched in August and includes smart and practical dresses, smock tops, t-shirts and leggings for girls. While for boys there is a wonderful range of tees, stylish trousers and cute dungarees.

Here are a few of my favourite pieces.

Peter Pocket Short Sleeve Boys Baby Grow

Baby Boys Blue Dungarees

Pretty Princess Pink Girls Baby Grow

Little Girls Red Long Sleeve Dress

Baby Girls Long Sleeve Top

The lovely folk at Green Nippers have offered a 15% discount to all readers of the blog. Simply head to the website and type in ORGANIC when prompted for a discount code. Now don't say I don't do anything for you!

Pumpkin Patch - Sale now on!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaay! Pumpkin Patch have got a sale now on - which includes half price jeans and shirts. And the best bit of the sale is that it's not just summer stuff that's been price slashed. My general problem with kids' end of season sales is that, er, well, it just won't fit them come next summer will it? Anyway, Pumpkin Patch have a great range of sale items including jumpers, joggers, jeans, cardies and shoes. We got everything below for just over 30 GBP! My credit card is breathing a huge sigh of relief.

We also got a long-sleeved navy t-shirt but I'm having some uploading probs. Will try to add later. In the meantime, get down to PP!

My Cinnamon Girl...

New online obsession is www.mycinnamongirl.co.uk a gorgeous children's clothing company from Norway that has just launched in the UK. My favourite thing is that there is a rather fabulous Mother and Daughter range. They're also a teeny tiny bit nostalgic and old fashioned, which I absolutely love. Here is a sneak peek of their autumn/winter collection which is available from October.

How cute and girlie? And you can just picture the Mummy version with opaque tights and high-heeled pumps. Don't worry MOBS (Mummies of boys) there is a lovely range for your little man too.

Get the look - Harper Seven

She may only be a few weeks old, but there's no such thing as too young for your first NYFW, not if your name is Harper Seven Beckham anyway. Harper and mummy Victoria were snapped strutting their stuff at New York Fashion Week and both of the Beckham girls were looking fab. Victoria showed her remarkable figure off in a pink dress, while Harper rocked the monochrome look that is fast becoming her signature style. Look out Suri...

Harper's outfit is from Makie www.makieclothier.com but isn't available online. But fear not, you can still get the look for your little one. I found this cute gingham romper, complete with a pretty neck bow at www.vanilla-avenue.blogspot.com which is actually a rather good place for baby apparel.

I'm not convinced by Harper's grey socks though. A pair of white socks with a bit of frill on them would have looked far cuter. I'm half amazed Victoria doesn't have her in Louboutin crib shoes yet. Do they exist? If not, they certainly should. Wonder if there is a 'suggestion box' at Louboutin boutiques?

It's raining , it's pouring...

Erm...what happened to the Indian summer? Its more like a British summer outside at the moment, you know, wetter than an otter's pocket (I sincerely hope that's not rude?). But, on the bright side (not that it was easy to find under the absolute layers of black cloud hovering above Nappy Valley today), I've been able to give LM's Flynn Bloom inspired Jojo Maman Bebe stripy hoody an airing http://baby-stylist.blogspot.com/p/about-this-blog.html. And it's the perfect excuse to check out some of the wet weather gear available (also suitable for weaning). I happened upon a lovely site www.tobytiger.co.uk which has a great range of raincoats and wellies for little ones. The label, which you can also find stocked in lots of department stores, even has the celebrity seal of approval with customers including Gwyneth Paltrow, Catherine Zeta Jones and Davina McCall. There is a lovely range of rompers, tees and other bits and pieces, but , in honour of the great British weather, here are my picks of wellies and raincoats.

Little Pea and Bertie...

Am currently enjoying a lovely lazy Sunday morning as BM has taken over and conducted the morning rigamarole with LM while I doze in bed. I even had a lovely hot cup of tea waiting for me when I woke. And it's not even my birthday until January! Anyway, it's given me the chance to have a little browse online. I was recommended  a site by a friend earlier this week www.littlepeaandbertie.com and have managed to check it out today. There are some absolutely stunning clothes on there for babies and toddlers - I'm a bit obsessed with the  cashmere rugby shirts for boys - but there are also some lovely bits on there for mum. We're not just wombs for hire after all! Here are some of my top picks from the site:

For boys:

Cashmere Rugby Shirt - obsessed

Dino Tank Top - ideal for little monsters

For girls:

Pink Cashmere Coat - perfect for Princesses

Beautiful baby girl dress with flower detail

Totally gorgeous right?
